One of my favorite Methodist bloggers, Dean Snyder, (not to be confused with my father-in-law of the same name) has a nice post about a Bishops' Task Force that is focused on discovering what United Methodists are passionate about.
The task force is using "Appreciative Inquiry", which is a way of helping to shape an organization's future by researching people's peak experiences and high points as a part of the movement or group.
I am a fan of AI, and I am glad that Methodist leaders are using it to help unify our denomination and help focus on our strengths instead of always focusing on those things that divide us. I am sure my friend Trish Hatfield at Character Ethics would approve.
