In the Eye of the Beholder

I finally got around to saving the pictures off of my digital camera from my recent trip to Chicago.

Both are beautiful in their own way and represent an interesting perspective of their respective communities.

Meanwhile, Ric Griffith's annual display at his home is a work of art in its own right. Displaying such a huge number jack-o-lanterns representing literally thousands of symbols of community, regional, national and pop culture significance.

It's hard to see from the following video, but the wall features jack o lanterns carved as orchestral instruments and is synchronized to different tunes including appropriately enough for us this year, the theme from Pirates of the Caribbean.
