CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) -- U.S. Sen. Barack Obama is scheduled to be in West Virginia on Thursday.
His campaign says he'll stop in Charleston and Beckley, but provided no details.
This is the Illinois senator's first trip to the Mountain State since campaigning for the presidential nomination. His last public appearance in West Virginia was at the September 2006 state Democratic Party's Jefferson-Jackson Dinner.
Obama has received the support of at least two high-profile West Virginia Democrats: U.S. Sen. Jay Rockefeller and U.S. Rep. Nick Rahall.
Obama currently holds a 1,603-to-1,497 lead in overall delegates for the Democratic nomination over U.S. Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-N.Y.
Clinton plans to visit Charleston and Huntington on Wednesday.
Clinton is scheduled to host a roundtable discussion with veterans at an American Legion Post in Huntington at 10 a.m. Wednesday. She will then travel to Charleston for a town hall meeting at Capital High School at 1:45 p.m., her campaign said Monday.
