I'm so saddened to learn that the Lion of the Senate, Ted Kennedy has lost his battle with brain cancer.
We must renew our efforts to fulfill his legacy and ensure that health care is a right for all Americans and not a privilege.
In honor of his lifetime of service on behalf of the nation that he loved so much, I think it is appropriate to share his historic speech that he made one year ago on August 25, 2008 at last year's Democratic National Convention in Denver. It was an honor and privilege to be there in person.
Rest in peace Senator. You will be greatly missed.

I believe in you, Jim, and those who share your passion for making this world a better place. I believe the cause does endure in you; the hope still lives in you; and the dream shall never die while you are there to keep it alive. It's a passing of the torch now, from one dwindling generation on to the next. And I have hope.
